A 14-month Erasmus+ small-scale partnership sets out to build CIVIKI, a free and multilingual Wiki of practical, peer-reviewed methods for civic education.
Civic Edu-Space has been approved for funding under Erasmus+ KA2 – Small-scale partnerships in adult education (KA210-ADU). The project started officially on 1 October 2025 and runs for 14 months, until 30 November 2026, under the Portuguese National Agency for Erasmus+ Education and Training.

The full title “Civic Edu-Space – Wiki for Civic Education: Blending Digital Innovation and Proven Strategies for Citizen Engagement in Sustainability, Entrepreneurship, and Interdisciplinary Learning” describes what the partnership set out to do: bring together teaching methods that already work, add the ones that are missing, and put them somewhere educators across Europe can actually find and use them. That place is the CIVIKI Wiki.
The challenge
Adult educators are increasingly asked to work on active citizenship, sustainability and entrepreneurship. Too often they do so without tested, ready-to-use methods, without the digital confidence to adapt them, and without a shared space in which to exchange what they have learned. Materials that do exist tend to be static, monolingual and scattered. CIVIKI starts instead from what educators themselves report they need, with explicit attention to learners with fewer opportunities — people in rural areas, migrants and the long-term unemployed.
Over the coming fourteen months the project will:
- conduct a needs-assessment survey with at least 100 adult educators across the partner and associated countries
- develop and peer-review at least 26 practical teaching methods — two from each partner organisation and twenty contributed by pre-selected associated partners
- build the CIVIKI Wiki, an open-access, responsive platform available in English, Greek, Portuguese and German, with search filters, a rating system and commenting, so that it grows through use rather than standing still
- pilot-test the platform and the methods with external adult education institutions, and refine both on the basis of that feedback
- share the results through webinars, local workshops, EPALE articles, newsletters and European networks
The partnership
- Associação para a Ação Educativa Cultural e Desportiva – Form2you (Sintra, Portugal) — coordinator, responsible for overall management, quality assurance and dissemination.
- Akademie für politische Bildung und demokratiefördernde Maßnahmen (Linz, Austria) — methodological lead, responsible for the needs-assessment survey and interdisciplinary coherence.
- Synergy European Consulting (Patras, Greece) — technical lead for the development and management of the CIVIKI Wiki, and host of the project’s pilot testing event in Greece.
Follow this site for updates as the survey opens and the Wiki takes shape.
